Sosa's career started out with the Texas Rangers so it appears his career has gone full circle.
Sammy's almost back in the big leagues. After being told he made the 40 man team roster, Sammy Sosa goes out and homers for the Texas Rangers.
"The reason why I took the chance to come here is because I know I can compete," he said. "I believe that putting myself in that situation, coming here knowing I have to fight for a spot, is something that I liked, something that I'm proud of."
A slim and trim Sosa appears headed towards making the official 25 man team roster barring any injuries. So Sammy, please do not sneeze!! Sammy famous, or infamous, sneeze before a game in San Diego caused him back spasms which forced him to miss some games in 2004.
Sosa is fifth on the career home list and is trying to make a comeback after sitting out last season after a disappointing 2005 season with the Baltimore Orioles.
Sammy's career has been a colorful and controversial one ranging from steroid allegations to having been found with corked bats.
