Yahoo takes the Lead Over Google on Mobile Phone Search

Yahoo's new mobile phone internet search system gives them an edge over Google.

In the race to see who is going to have the number 1 mobile phone search system, Yahoo announced Monday their new mobile phone search system will give them an advantage over what Google now offers.

Yahoo has been falling behind Google has the top internet search engine is now focusing their efforts on being the number 1 mobile phone search engine by placing a browser on every cell phone that has internet capability.

So far this year, Yahoo has signed deals to feature its Yahoo Go software, including the oneSearch service, with four of the world's top five mobile handset makers: Nokia, Motorola Inc., Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. and LG Electronics Inc. "The pace is something we are going to continue throughout the year," Boerries said.

Yahoo's mobile phone search engine takes less steps to find information than Google because Yahoo starts with local searches as a starting point. This makes the Yahoo search system more of a local road map since most cell phone searches for information are focused on a need for local information, and not necessarily a global information.
